The 16th Taipei International Plastics & Rubber Industry Show (Taipei PLAS 2018) was kicked off yesterday at Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center, Taipei. The biennial show (15-19 August) is expecting 20,000 visitors including 13.5% buyers from 80 overseas countries.

This year’s show consists of 10 display zones of different focuses, such as plastics and rubber processing machinery, auxiliary equipment; mold and mold components; raw materials; smart automation, robotics and 3D printing, overseas exhibitors, etc.

The exhibitors are displaying their latest technologies and solutions for the mega trends in the plastics and rubber industry. For smart manufacturing, there are plenty of robotic and control system solutions showcased at the fairgrounds.




Taipei PLAS 2018 is expecting a total of 20,000 visitors during the 5-day show. 

For sustainability, many machine builders are highlighting the benefits of energy saving and low emission of their equipment. Meanwhile, some manufacturers put their new equipment for advanced composites and recycling materials under the spotlight, demonstrating their technical capability of handling high-tech modern materials.

In addition, the TAIPEI PLAS 2018 Summit “Industry 4.0 – Shaping New PLASbility” was concurrently held on the second day. Experts from Engel, Arburg, Wittmann Battenfeld, FCS Group, etc. shared their experience and shed lights on the latest development and future trends of Industry 4.0 and smart factory.

To facilitate better business matching, Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA) successfully invited buyers from the US, UAE, Turkey, Russia, Romania, South Africa, India, etc. to discuss projects with exhibitors face to face.

In 2017, the production value of plastics and rubber machinery of Taiwan, China amounted to over US$1.4 billion, and the export value increased to over US$1.1 billion. India is the fastest growing export market to Taiwan, China with an increase of 44.1% export value in the same year.

The 1st Taipei Int'l Shoe Making Technology Show is concurrently held with Taipei PLAS 2018. Both shows are co-organized by Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA) and Taiwan Association of Machinery Industry (TAMI).
